Before I even get started on this post, I wanted to recognize the fact that I just realized there is a blogger by the name of Amber Fillerup and her page name is Barefoot Blonde and she’s very well-known! Little did I know, and now I have this blog page name that will probably change. Anwayyyy check out her page though- she’s absolutely beautiful, has an adorable little boy, and a great sense of fashion.
Now on to what I find important. I prefer to look at useful pages that educate me and that’s what I am hoping to do here. The little about me blurb on my page says “Just a girl, going with the flow, learning as I go :)” That’s all! Anything I say is my opinion, but may be useful to others.
With that being said here are my Top Favorite All Natural Products:
Shampoo: Hugo Naturals Tea Tree & Lavender & 100% Pure Honey & Virgin Coconut
Conditioner: Hugo Naturals Smoothing & Defining Creamy Coconut & 100% Pure Honey & Virgin Coconut
Body Wash: Dr. Bronner’s Almond Soap
Shaving Gel: Dr. Bronner’s Lavender
Body Butter: Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar (this scent is amazing!)
Eye Makeup Remover: I simply use Coconut Oil and it is truly the best to get off your makeup… even waterproof
Face Wash: 100% Pure Purity Facial Cleanser & Mask or 100% Pure Eucalyptus Seafoam Cleanser
Face Wipes: Yes to Cucumbers Clear Skin
Nail Polish: So toxic, yet makes us all feel pretty/girly. Here are 2 brands that have a lot less harsh chemicals then the leading nail polish brands like Essie. Zoya & SPARITUAL
Dryer Wool Balls (Instead of Dryer Sheets): I add a few drops of essential oil to the wall balls and then place in my dryer. It makes the clothes smell better and helps dry them quicker. My favorite essential oil for this is Lavender. Smart Sheep 6-Pack XL Premium 100% Wool Dryer Balls, Reusable Natural Fabric Softener
Laundry Detergent: I have 2 favorites – Honest Company and Biokleen
Dish Washer Detergent: Seventh Generation
Liquid Dish Wash Soap: J.R. Watkins
Hand Soap: Method Gel Hand Wash – Sweet Water
All Purpose Cleaner: Seventh Generation
Cleaning Wipes: Seventh Generation
Floor Steamer: So instead of a swiffer, I purchased a floor steamer. This is a much safer alternative way to clean your floors. The cloth on the bottom is machine washable and you do not need to use any chemicals on the floor! If you want it to smell fresh you can always add some lemon essential oil, peppermint, tea tree, thieves, or really any scent that you prefer. The steamer I have is The Luna Plus Steam Cleaner.
Moisturizer (Day time): 100% Pure Argan Oil Hydration with SPF 30 or Organic Pursit by 100% Pure Pomegranate Moisturizer with no SPF
Moisturizer (Night time): Organic Pursit by 100% Pure Night Repair Balm (one of the best skin care products I have ever purchased!! In love with this night balm!)
Eye Cream: 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream (does not smell like coffee bean, more like vanilla bean and so yummy!)
Facial Massage & Hair Oil: Agran Oil (be careful not to put too much in your hair otherwise it becomes very greasy)
Toner: Apple Cider Vinegar & Water in a glass spray bottle (this is a magical ingredient and works wonders on the skin internally and externally) or Rose Water (can be mixed into other ingredients as well)
Tinted Moisturizer w/SPF: 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer
SPF: Alba Very Emollient Sunscreen or 100% Pure the Argan Oil Hydration SPF 30 that I mentioned earlier
Leave in Hair Conditioner: Mix a little bit of your conditioner with distilled water and a few drops of rosemary and tea tree oil.
Face Mask: I am a big fan of honey! Honey with lemon, honey with turmeric, honey with sugar or salt to exfoliate and a non homemade one I recommend is Origins Charcoal Mask. It’s not completely all natural, but does not have Parabens, Sulfates or Phthalates.
Toothpaste: Toms of Maine or Desert Essence Natural Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste
Body Scrub: Pacifica Kona Coffee & Sugar Detox with Coconut Oil
Aloe Vera Gel: All Natural Biodegradable Aloe Vera Gel by Mexitan
Fragrances …. made of all chemicals!! Stay away from perfumes/ colonges unless they are all natural. A great brand that I like for perfume is Pacifica (the tahitian vanilla is my favorite) and I also use a roll on oil one from my local farmers market store called Sprouts and the scent is Egyptain Goddess. Look for fragrances in your beauty products too. If it says fragrance in the ingredient list, that is a red flag for chemicals.
Shaving Cream for Men: Herban Cowboy Dusk Premium Shave Cream (Yes, I even got my fiancé using all natural products! He had to try a few before finding ones that worked for him)
Hair Gel for Men: Aubrey Organics: Men’s Stock Ginseng Biotin Hair Gel
*I recommend getting an essential oil diffuser as well. I am obsessed with mine and put it on every time I am in my bedroom. The calming sensation and scents make my room feel like a peaceful spa. I use Lavender Essential Oil (no surprise there)
Another recommendation is to keep houseplants all over your home as they detoxify the air from pollutants and chemicals. They are also pretty and bringing nature indoors gives a sense of peace (at least it does to me).
I saved the Best Torturist one for last!
DEODORANT! Ugh what a nightmare it was to find one that actually worked! I’ve tried several and I have to say there are a few all natural ones that work pretty well. Since I tested them all, you don’t have to! Here is what worked and what did not:
This is my absolute favorite one: Nourish Organic in Almond Vanilla
This is my LEAST favorite one: 100% Pure Lemongrass Deodorant (This is the only product by 100% Pure that I have tried and do not like)
A pretty good deodorant is this Soapwalla Deodorant Cream- I used this one for a while and even bought 2 more after the first container was gone. The only thing about this deodorant is you have to put it on with your fingers. After a while I got sick of doing that. It may also burn if you put it on right after shaving. This happened to me a few times, but not with the Nourish Organic Deodorant that I currently use.
I did not like the Jason Tea Tree Deodorant Stick. It did not work for me!
The Ava Anderson Organic Deodorant worked pretty well. It kind of has a cocoa butter scent and did not make me sweat. This is harder to get and once I finished this deodorant I decided to give others a try.
For Men: Not Good Maximum Protection Deodorant – Dusk 2.8 oz (80 grams) Stick
My fiancé hated this one! Let’s just say he did not smell great using this!
The Tom’s Long Lasting Deodorant has been his favorite Men’s kind and so far has been working really well!
That’s all I have for now. I am probably forgetting something, but oh well! I can also do another whole post on natural makeup if anyone would like to read that (comment your thoughts below)!
I hope this was helpful and if someone has a great natural product to share, please do!
With Peace, Love, & Smiles,
Deanna
